It's December, and we all know what that means--it's holiday shopping time! Instead of getting your favorite cyclist another pair of bicycle-printed boxer shorts or an "I (heart) my bike" coffee mug, check out our holiday gift guide for some truly unique and original cycling-related gifts.
A saddle that's a work of art
Kara Ginther's custom-carved leather Brooks saddles are nothing short of amazing. A customized saddle takes 2-4 weeks to make, depending on the complexity of the design, so it might not be realistic to expect to get one of these in time to wrap it and put it under the Christmas tree. But I'd imagine most recipients wouldn't mind an IOU from Santa once they see how cool Kara's work is! Check out her flickr gallery for some incredible photos of her beautifully intricate designs.

Deck the halls with recycled bike parts
If you're looking for something a little more affordable that you'll definitely have in time to trim the tree this December 25, look no further than these bike chain ornaments. They're recycled, handmade, and fair trade. And on top of all that, your purchase from The Hunger Site store will help fund food for the world's hungry.

Stocking stuffers for him
If you know a fancy gentleman who likes to ride his bike while wearing a tuxedo, these sterling silver bicycle chain ring cufflinks would be the world's most perfect Christmas or Hanukah gift. For a gift that's literally easier on your wallet (ha!), consider a recycled one made from bike tubes. They're extremely durable and they provide a great place for him to stash his cash.

Holiday treats for her
If she likes to commute by bike, she'll love a handmade pannier from Queen Bee Creations. They're lovely, lightweight, waterproof, and they even have fully reflective side panels. And you can forget tacky bike-themed jewelry--if she's into books, she'll appreciate these sprocket book ends. They'll support a shelf full of books or magazines, whether they're bike-related or not!

Awesome home furnishings from etsy
No holiday gift guide would be complete without a link to some handmade finds over at etsy. If you type "bicycle" into the search field, you'll turn up tons of notecards, T-shirts, and tote bags. But dig a little deeper and you'll stumble across some incredible lamps and clocks made from recycled bike parts like this red fork lamp at Lampcycle. And this wall-mounted bike rack made of reclaimed wood is both functional and beautiful.
